Modern Slavery and Right to Work

Policy Aims

Fortify ES LTD is committed to tackling Modern Slavery and/or Human Trafficking, this statement is written in reference to the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Fortify ES LTD has a zero-tolerance approach to Modern Slavery and are committed to acting ethically in all business dealings whilst putting in place effective systems to safeguard against any form of Modern Slavery within our business and supply chain.

Relating policies

Fortify ES LTD have a number of internal policies to ensure our organisation is being managed and maintained in an ethical and non-discriminative manner. These include the following:

Right to work

Fortify ES LTD have a legal responsibility to prevent the employment of illegal workers. To fulfil this, we administer the following checks to confirm employee eligibility

  • Original documentation is obtained, checked for authenticity and copied. Acceptable documentation used is in
    accordance with the Home Office Right to work Checklist

  • The photograph is checked for likeness
  • Expiry dates are checked for expiry and noted
  • Work restrictions, if any, are noted
  • Cross reference with any other documentation provided

A reminder is sent to the employee 12 weeks before their documentation expires advising them of the expiry date and requesting action. All employee documentation is kept for the duration of their employment. Once employment has ceased, the information is kept in an encrypted electronic file for three years, after which it is permanently deleted.

Risk Assessing

Fortify ES LTD aims to ensure all measures are taken to prevent Modern Slavery and illegal working both within our own organisation and our supply chain. It is hugely important that our staff are aware of what constitutes Modern Slavery and illegal working, we do this by:

  • Staff Training
  • Improving supply chain auditing

Responsibilities

4.1 All Employees
All employees have a responsibility to make a disclosure under this policy where they encounter suspected or actual impropriety or malpractice.
4.2 Line Managers
Line managers are responsible for ensuring that those they manage are aware of our Modern Slavery procedures.Line managers are also responsible for handling any disclosure made to them under this policy.
4.3 Investigating Officers
The person assigned to investigate a disclosure made under this policy is responsible for investigating the disclosure and reporting back to the MD of Fortify ES LTD.
4.4 Directors of the Company
Directors are responsible overall for implementation of this policy within the company. They are also responsible for investigating disclosures as investigating officer, where appointed to do so.

Information for Employees

All employees will be made aware of this policy. The full policy will be accessible to all employees upon request.

Compliance & Review

Fortify ES LTD Managing Director is responsible for this policy and will review it annually and ensure appropriate audit arrangements are in place to check that it is implemented.
